Facebook Messenger is one of the most popular messaging apps out there, with over 900 million people using the service, and now the social network wants to enhance the inbox experience.
With the new Messenger update, which should be rolling out beginning today, there will be a new “Home” section, which can be accessed from a dedicated button on the far left of the row of icons at the bottom of the screen. Once there, users will see a variety of content, from their Favorites, the folks that are on Messenger and active at the time, and even feature birthday reminders — all so you can send a message and give them happy wishes.
Home is an obvious way to get people to jump into conversations more often, and make it easier to do so. Facebook says even more changes are on the way, so it will be interesting to see how Messenger evolves in the months ahead.
