Apple Publishes New ‘Carpool Karaoke: The Series’ Ahead of August 8 Launch

We learned that Apple’s Carpool Karaoke: The Series will launch on August 8 back in May, and now, as the date nears, Apple is starting to churn the promotional machine a bit.

Apple today shared a brand new trailer for the upcoming show, which will be locked behind the Apple Music paywall, showing off a variety of different celebrities and music artists singing to popular songs in vehicles. It’s a format that was made popular on The Late, Late Show With James Corden, which Apple acquired back in 2016. Since then, Apple has been building up the upcoming show on a semi-regular basis, but that will probably change with August right around the corner.

Here’s the new ad:

Carpool Karaoke: The Series will feature 16 half-hour episodes, and each one will feature at least a pair of celebrities as they drive around in a car and sing popular songs together. Each episode will have a different host, and a different companion along for the ride, and they will be released on a weekly basis every Thursday.

James Corden will be making a return to the show, and other celebrities include Will Smith, Trevor Noah, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, and others. Meanwhile, musical artists like Alicia Keys, John Legend, Shakira, and Miley Cyrus will be on hand to sing to their heart’s content.

The upcoming series will be one of Apple’s biggest events, especially for its push for original video content within Apple Music.

The question is, if you’re an Apple Music subscriber, do you plan on watching it?
