Apple Seeds macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 Beta 2 to Developers

Apple launched macOS High Sierra to the public in September, and now the first beta of its first major update has landed.

Apple today officially seeded the second developer beta of macOS High Sierra 10.13.1. Registered developers can find the new pre-release software via the Apple Developer Center, or, on devices with the proper configuration profile installed, the new software can be installed via the Mac App Store.

At the time of publication, it is not known what new features, if any, Apple is bringing to the first update to macOS High Sierra. The safest bet is that the new release will be bringing a host of bug fixes and performance improvements, which will be mainly focused on behind-the-scenes fixes. Whatever Apple aims to fix in this first update to macOS High Sierra will be directed towards whatever bugs and other issues were discovered since the release of the Golden Master version of the desktop operating system and the public release.

As is the same with iOS 11.1, which saw its own second developer beta seeded today, Apple could be including functionality for iCloud for iMessages, which will allow customers to store their messages in the cloud, as well as do a better job of syncing conversations/deleted conversations between devices.

The new developer beta is available now and can be installed for registered developers. Apple has already seeded the first public beta of macOS High Sierra 10.13.1, so it is likely that the second public beta of the desktop operating system will arrive soon for public beta testers as well.
