A new supply-chain report appears to corroborate rumors that Apple has a trio of new iPads heading to the market.
According to a report from DigiTimes, based on sources part of the supply-chain, Apple does indeed plan on launching a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro. It goes on to say that Apple will update the 9.7-inch iPad as well, but that it will be bumped down to an “entry-level device.” The 12.9-inch iPad Pro will also get new features and specs, but if you’ve been waiting for a new iPad mini, that lineup wasn’t mentioned at all.
The main takeaway of the new report is a launch window. While it was previously speculated that Apple would be launching the three new iPads in the first part of 2017, the sources speaking to the publication say that Apple may release the new tablets sometime in the second half of 2017:
“However, these tablets may not be announced or even released in the market until the second half of 2017, the sources said.”
The launch window isn’t nailed down yet, it seems. Are you looking forward to getting your hands on a new iPad?
