With the release of iOS 7, Apple introduced a fully revamped user interface that was based on flat design rather than skeuomorphism. It soon became a design trend that was adopted by many different companies in various industries.
Although it was hard at first to get used to the new design, it soon started to make sense why Apple made this switch. If you still prefer the old design over the new one, then you may be interested in a new jailbreak tweak that brings a part of iOS 6 design to iOS 10.
Called ClassicFolders 2, this jailbreak tweak brings the iOS 6 folder style to iOS 10, which features a dark background and opens as a tray below the folder icon. The tweak also customizes the folder icon to make it look like iOS 6.
Apart from the iOS 6 folder style, ClassicFolders offers a couple more styles such as Modern, Mavericks, and iOS 4 beta style. These styles modify the background of the folder and its icon.
Once you install ClassicFolders 2, a configuration pane is added to Settings where you’ll find the following options:
ClassicFolders has been developed by CoolStar and Jeremy Goulet. CoolStar is well known for building the SemiRestore tool as well as “Classic” tweaks which bring the old iOS 6 style to newer versions of iOS.
ClassicFolders 2 is worth the try because it not only brings the iOS 6 folder style to iOS 10 but also provides 3 different folder styles to choose from. If you prefer a modern look, then you will love the other folder styles that are available.
ClassicFolders 2 is available for $1.99 in Cydia’s BigBoss repo. Let us know what you think about this tweak in the comments below.
