With iOS 11, Apple has tried another hand with iMessage apps. There’s a newly redesigned iMessage App Store and the way we interact with iMessage apps has changed itself. Now, iMessage apps show up as a ticker in the bottom of the screen. This quick access is great for people who use iMessage apps frequently. But for everyone else, it’s just a thing you have to look at before starting a conversation. There’s a way to hide this new iMessage app ticker.

Step 1: Open the Messages app and go to an iMessage conversation.
Step 2: Tap on the “A” App Store icon.
Step 3: This will disable the iMessage app ticker. You are now free to go about your life.
The great thing about this workaround is that it hides the iMessage app drawer for every single conversation in the Messages app. And it stays hidden even after you restart or force reboot your phone.
If you just don’t want to use iMessage apps, try disabling them from the iMessage app drawer.
Step 1: Swipe to the end of the iMessage app drawer and tap on the Menu button.
Step 2: Toggle off all the available apps. You can’t disable the App Store icon.
Step 3: Tap on Done, go back and now you’ll only find the App Store and the Menu button in the iMessage app drawer.
