Instagram has been including advertisements within a user’s feed for some time now, but the photo-centric social network is making some changes for iOS users.
As initially revealed by Digiday, Instagram is rolling out more advanced advertisements for iOS users, ones that specifically target some features that are only available for Apple users. Specifically, the ads will focus on making interacting with the ads, and paying for the things they’re selling, as “frictionless” as possible.
That means that users will be able to use 3D Touch to sift through selections that are offered by some companies, like clothing selections. And with the inclusion of Apple Pay, Instagram users will be able to select items they want to buy and stay within the Instagram app, making it so that users don’t have to exit out of the app.
It seems like a nice way to stay focused on Instagram, which isn’t surprising, and it keeps users within the app — even as they interact with ads. Plus, supporting features that are only available on some iOS units is a nice touch.
