The incredibly popular Netflix original TV show, Stranger Things, now has its very own iOS game, aptly named Stranger Things: The Game. Unlike other popular games based on movies or TV shows, this one here is completely free on the App Store.
The launch of this game is an excellent precursor to the premiere of the second season of Stranger Things later this month. As for the gameplay, it borrows heavily from 80s games which a majority of the Stranger Things fanbase can relate to. Down to the audio effects, the graphics, and gameplay, everything is styled on the retro theme.
This is a puzzle game with seven playable characters. Each player has a unique ability or skill to help each other solve puzzles. Users can collect Eggos and Gnomes, while there are some exclusive trailers from the second season to be unlocked.
It is said that there is nearly 10 hours worth of gameplay here, including 30 quests and six dungeons to discover. There are two difficulty modes to choose from, adding more spice to your experience.
Users will also be able to find areas like Mirkwood Forest, Hawkins Lab, and Jim Hopper’s home, which are some of the crucial locations on the TV show. Interestingly, there are no in-app purchases here, which tells us that this game has been designed solely to keep the users excited about the coming season of Stranger Things.
The game will be updated on the 27th of October with new content from Season 2, which premieres on the same day. Stranger Things: The Game is available for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and the iPad.
