Some match-3 games are great. I know they get a bad rap, but there are some gems out there. EightyEight Games’ 10000000 was one of them, and it looks like the follow up, You Must Build a Boat has that same kind of bite. Players go on an adventure, crossing an ocean, while simultaneously building the boat along the way.
Well, technically, you aren’t really building the boat in You Must Build a Boat. It’s… well… I would say that it’s complicated, but it isn’t. I suppose you’re more of a supervisor? Maybe the beneficiary of others’ good works?
Just watch Graham Russell and I play You Must Build a Boat.. It explains everything. We don’t exactly make any significant contributions toward the vessel’s construction, but I assure you that you will see a boat being built.
You Must Build a Boat is immediately available for PCs, as well as iOS and Android devices. I’d recommend going for a mobile version, as they’re slightly cheaper at $2.99 and the game lends itself to touch screen controls. However, the PC version we played above is quite fun and down to $3.34 on Steam until June 22, 2015, thanks to the Steam Summer Sale. (The price will go back up to $4.99 once the promotion ends.)
